In the event that the merchandise arrives damaged and the insurance can proceed without any problems to pay compensation, you should know the following:
The shipment must be well packaged, with the corresponding internal coverages and well accommodated. The interior must be reinforced to minimize damage from impacts and vibrations during transport. It should also be noted that, depending on the merchandise, it may need to be packed with expanded polystyrene.
If the shipment is not well packaged, we must be aware that it can always be denied due to insufficient packaging.
Within the deadlines established by the insurance (we detail the deadlines below), the following information must be provided to OLABOX so that the insurance can be informed:
• Photographs of the original item. Before shipping and packaging. As many photographs as possible.
• Photographs of the item already packed and before being shipped. As many photographs as possible.
• Photographs of the package upon arrival at the destination, packed, before opening it. As many photographs as possible.
• Photographs of the damaged item after shipping. As many photographs as possible.
• If the item is IRREPARABLE, you must provide a signed letter from the sender or recipient stating clearly that the item, object, painting, etc., is irreparable and irreplaceable, and for this reason, it must be destroyed.
• If the item can be repaired, a PROFORMA INVOICE with the total repair amount must be attached.
• OFFICIAL INVOICE of the damaged item.
Other relevant information:
For the claim to be accepted by the insurance, OLABOX must be informed of the damage within the following deadlines :
- Domestic transport : within 7 days following delivery.
- International land transport (EU) : within 10 days following delivery.
- International air transport : within 14 days following delivery.
Maximum photographs: You are very clear about how the shipment was packaged and the damage it has suffered, but the insurance may not see it as clearly as we do. Therefore, we ask you to send us as many photographs as possible of the before and after, upon arrival. From all sides of the package and any bumps or scratches on the external packaging.
